Panacur oral suspension 10% is a robust veterinary strength treatment formulated for the effective control of parasitic worms such as roundworms and tapeworms in cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies. Panacur includes a broad spectrum anthelmintic for the treatment of domestic dogs and cats infected with immature and mature stages of nematodes of the gastro-intestinal and respiratory tracts. Additionally, Panacur is also indicated for the treatment of lungworm and giardia and it also has ovicidal effect on nematode eggs. This easy-to-administer syrup oral suspension ensures precise dosing, thus making it a convenient option for pet owners to keep their pets healthy and free from worms. <br /><br />Adult dogs and cats: For the treatment of adult dogs and cats infected with gastro-intestinal nematodes and cestodes: Ascarid spp. (Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati, Toxocaris leona), Ancylostoma spp., Trichuris spp., Uncinaria spp. and Taenia app. <br /><br />Puppies and kittens: For the treatment of puppies and kittens infected with gastro-intestinal nematodes and puppies infected with protozoa (Giardia spp.). <br /><br /><br />Pregnant dogs: For the treatment of pregnant dogs to reduce prenatal infections with toxocara canis and the transfer of T.canis and Ancylostoma caninum to their pups via the milk. <br /><br />Also for the treatment of domestic dogs infected with lungworm Oslerus (Filaroides) osleri or protozoa Giardia spp., and cats infected with lungworm Aelurostrongylus abstrusus.

Instructions:

  • Shake container before use. Add the dose to the feed, directly before feeding or administer by mouth directly after feeding.

Dosage Guide:

Practical dosage recommendations for puppies and kittens under 6 months of age

Puppies and kittens under 6 months of age dose is 0.5 ml per kg body weight daily for 3 consecutive days given by mouth directly after feeding to unweaned animals or added to feed for weaned animals, directly before feeding. (= 50 mg fenbendazole/kg body weight daily for 3 days. <br /><br />For puppies weighing over 10 kg, an extra 0.5 ml is required daily for each additional kg body weight. Puppies should be treated at 2 weeks of age, 5 weeks of age and again before leaving the breeder's premises. Treatment may also be required at 8 and 12 weeks of age. Thereafter, frequency of treatment can be reduced unless the pups remain in kennels where reinfection occurs more readily.

Warnings and Safety: Your pet should be accurately weighed prior to treatment to ensure that the correct amount is being administered. For animal treatment only. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Direct contact with skin should be kept to a minimum. Wash hands after use. <br /><br />Gastrointestinal signs (such as vomiting and diarrhoea) can occur in very rare cases in dogs and cats. The product can also be safely administered to pregnant dogs and cats. As teratogenic effects in dogs and cats cannot be completely ruled out in very rare cases, the treatment in the first two trimesters of pregnancy should be based on the benefit-risk evaluation by the responsible veterinary surgeon.
